hullo, south island

Folks.

You must forgive me. I’ve been deplorably lazy with regard to this blog recently.

But I’ve changed. I’ll make it up to you–I promise.

The news: I’ve made it to the South Island, the bigger and less populous of those two great landmasses that broke away from Gondwanaland eighty-five to one hundred thirty million years ago and settled in the South Pacific, beneath the deserted right cheek of Australia’s arse. (Don’t worry, I didn’t know any of that either–until I went to Wellington’s Te Papa Museum and spent hours–hours!–afront the Awesome Forces exhibit on the geological history of NZ.)

I’ll be residing in the Mahau Sound at Sherrington Grange, with the Harper family, for the next couple of months (insha’Allah). Please take a look at SmugMug for a few new photo albums, including one on Wellington and one on the Marlborough Sounds (forthcoming).
